Update on Ben

On Dec 4, I had a bad night and didn't go to Ben's. That afternoon, Mary called me and asked me if i could go to the hospital with them. The nurse from home health said there was something wrong with his IV Port. An ambulance was called and we went in for a scan of the port. We thought it would be a x-ray and he could stay on the gurney. This was not to be. They had to move him from the gurney to a table and then found out the machine was not working.........so back on the gurney and down the hall to another machine. Another move from the gurney to the table and back again. The doctor was not able to access the port so the surgeon was called. He said Ben should stay the night and he would see him in the morning. No such thing. Ben wanted to go home. We got back home about 7:00p.m. At 5:00a.m. yesterday I went out there so Mary could get some sleep. She woke up at 8:30a.m. and phoned the doctor. They said they would call the ambulance so Ben could come back and they would either repair or replace the port. We called the ambulance and asked what time they were scheduled to come. "They are on the way." I looked up and they were turning in the driveway. It was another zoo. The final result is there was not really anything wrong with his port. The home health nurse had not done her part right. It was about 10:00p.m. when we finally got him settled in his bed.
